GRAND ISLAND - A man who fled Hall County authorities in a case involving a pit bull stands convicted of four felony crimes.

33-year-old Tristan Bush, pleaded no contest to and was convicted of resisting arrest using a deadly weapon, child abuse, avoiding arrest and assault on a police officer.

Court records show in April, Bush was riding in a car that was stopped for speeding seven miles west of Grand Island.

The deputy attempted to arrest Bush for outstanding felony warrants.

Bush got into the driver’s seat and began to drive away.

The deputy tried to stop Bush, but a pitbull in the car attacked him.

The deputy was forced to shoot the dog to get free.

Bush was arrested several days later in Texas and faces up to 62 years in prison.
