UPDATE: 3:30 p.m. (9-20-2019): Norfolk Police Captain Mike Bauer says police are investigating the death of a female, but says there is no indication of foul play.

Police were originally called to the area of Wells Fargo Bank near the Sunset Plaza Mall for a possible medical rescue. When they arrived they found a deceased female. 

The Norfolk Police Department is conducting a death investigation.

Authorities have not released any further information about the victim or their identity.

NORFOLK - A large police presence was seen at the Sunset Plaza Mall in Norfolk Friday afternoon.

Norfolk Police and Norfolk Fire and Rescue were seen at the Herberger's building parking lot around 2 p.m. Friday.

The reason for the presence is unknown at this time, but authorities say there is no active threat to the public.
