Dry cleaner facing arson charges relating to October explosion

The owner of a dry cleaning business that exploded in south Omaha almost a year ago is now facing arson charges.

OMAHA - The owner of a dry cleaning business that exploded in south Omaha almost a year ago is now facing arson charges.

The Sarpy County Attorney's Office has charged 53-year-old Michael McKernan with four counts of second-degree arson, two counts of fraud and burning to defraud an insurer.

Our news partners WOWT 6 News report that he turned himself in to Sarpy County authorities Tuesday morning.

Last year, state fire marshal deputies determined a fire that sparked an explosion at Wardrobe Spa near 180th and Harrison in southwest Omaha was set intentionally.
