FORDYCE - A Fordyce man is dead after a two-vehicle accident in Cedar County.

According to a news release from the Cedar County Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Larry Koranda says Kristopher Arens, 48, of Fordyce was killed in an accident at the intersection of Highway 12 and the 14A Spur in Cedar County around 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

Authorities say Arens failed to yield to an eastbound semi-trailer driven by Johnathan Kelly, 61, of Livingston, Montana.

Arens was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kelly was treated and released at a Yankton, South Dakota hospital.

The accident remains under investigation by the Cedar County Sheriff's Office.

Fordyce Fire, Hartington Fire and Rescue and the Nebraska State Patrol assisted at the scene.
