Cheyenne man dies in fatal I-80 accident near Sidney Tuesday afternoon
SIDNEY - The Nebraska State Patrol says a Cheyenne, Wyoming man was killed in a two-vehicle accident west of Sidney Tuesday afternoon.
The NSP and the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene at mile marker 48 on I-80 around 3 PM for a crash between a fuel tanker and a car.
Investigators found the car driven by 20-year-old Chance Seivley drove onto the rumble strips, over-corrected, and crossed the median, striking the semi-tanker.
Officials say Seivley was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi, Monte Larson of Salina, Kansas, was not seriously injured.
I-80 was closed for around four hours during the incident.
