Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska holds annual stakeholder meeting

The Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska held its annual stakeholder meeting Thursday night at the Norfolk Country Club.
Staff and board members of the shelter updated its partners on how the shelter has progressed over the past year. Public Relations and Fundraising Manager Amber Anderson says a big part of the presentation was to inform people on programs they might not know about.
One example of those programs, she says, is Paws for Hope where the shelter will take care of pets of families who are displaced by events such as the floods or house fires.
"We are there for the pets, but we are also there for our community," Anderson said. "We are there for people. We are there so people can volunteer, so people can have jobs and take care of the animals, you know, feel good doing things."
Anderson says she encourages members of the public to stop into the shelter to learn more about the programs they offer and to visit their furry friends as well.
