Convicted Sex Offender Arrested, After Move From Connecticut to Beatrice

Failure to report as sex offender lands former Connecticut man in Gage County Jail

BEATRICE – A registered sex offender who had moved from Connecticut to Beatrice was arrested on Friday, for allegedly failing to register with the Nebraska State Patrol, as required.

38-year-old David McKeon had a met a girl online and told authorities he flew from Hartford, Connecticut to Lincoln, and then moved to Beatrice on August 9th.

Gage County Sheriff Millard Gustafson says McKeon had skipped appointments for the required registration.  A sheriff’s investigator notified officers of the Beatrice Police Department and school resource officers, since McKeon was residing near the Beatrice Middle School.

After an investigation involving city, county and state officers, McKeon was arrested at his home, on Friday, at about 11:25 a.m.  Information for violation of local ordinances on residency restrictions for sex offenders is being forwarded to Beatrice Police and the city attorney’s office.
