LINCOLN - A southeastern Nebraska man will be serving jail time for being in possession of a gun and an IED.
According to the Associated Press, U.S. Attorney for Nebraska Joe Kelly has sentenced 47-year-old Shawn Huntington of Beatrice to 15 consecutive weekends in jail, six years probation, and 150 of community service. Investigators say that in November 2017, Huntington was arrested for having a gun to hunt Gage County, even though he was prohibited from having a gun.
When he was out on bond for that charge, officers investigating another crime served a search warrant at Huntington's home and found an IED in his vehicle. Police say the IED was surrounded with nails.
