BEATRICE - The U.S. Geological Survey reports an earthquake happened Friday morning, near Hutchinson, Kansas.

The quake was centered about 3 miles from Hutchinson….and apparently was felt by persons in northeast Kansas and southeast Nebraska.  The National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colorado reports the earthquake registered at 4.2 magnitude.

There were no immediate reports of major damage or injuries.

The National Earthquake Center reported that it received reports from people who felt the quake, in Frankfort, Baileyville, Clyde, Clay Center and Seneca in northeast Kansas. 

Two reports from people who felt the quake were received from Beatrice, Nebraska....three in Lincoln and one in Nebraska City.

There was one report each, from Plattsmouth and McCook.
