The effort to recall two Antelope County Commissioners has taken the next step.

According to Antelope County Clerk Lisa Payne, petitions with signatures of those seeking to recall Antelope County Commissioners Tom Borer of District 5 and Allan Bentley of District 3 were submitted Tuesday.

Both are accused of mismanaging county funds and misappropriation of taxpayer dollars. Borer and Allan have denied the allegations.

Payne says 135 signatures are needed to recall Bentley. 203 are needed for a recall of Borer.

Payne now has two weeks to count the signatures. She says if the petitioners collected enough of them, a recall election would be held later this year.
