Macy man sentenced to 18 months for assault

MACY - A Macy, Nebraska man has been sentenced to prison for assault.

In a news release, US Attorney Joe Kelly says 21-year-old Taylor Morris was sentenced in federal court on Monday to 18 months in prison for a 2018 assault on the Omaha Nation Indian Reservation.

Authorities say Morris assaulted a 67-year-old male in the street causing brain bleeding, skull fracture, and a stroke.

He fled the scene before police arrived.

The case was investigated by the Omaha Nation Law Enforcement and the FBI.
