The Highway 12 bridge near Niobrara has reopened to traffic, according to a news release from the Nebraska DOT.
The news release says the bridge is a single-lane temporary bridge. A traffic signal will be used to direct traffic.
The bridge will provide transit over the Mormon Canal while a permanent bridge is being built.
The temporary bridge was opened almost a week ahead of schedule, according to the news release.
The Nebraska DOT says the Highway 12 bridge is the most complex and expensive project to come from the flooding in March.
The Nebraska DOT will be hosting a celebratory ceremony on August 13, to mark the accomplishment.
