NORTH PLATTE - A North Platte police officer has accepted a plea agreement for an off-duty drunk driving incident in April.

28-year-old Sarah Jones has been placed on six months’ probation, fined and lost her driver’s license for 60 days.

Police Chief Daniel Hudson says 28-year-old Sarah Jones will continue performing non-public administrative support duties at police headquarters until disciplinary actions can be completed.

Jones has been off street duty since she was involved in a two-vehicle collision in April on Highway 83 near the North Platte River bridge.

A sobriety test by Lincoln County sheriff’s deputies showed she was driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.185, more than twice the legal limit.
