ROUND ROCK, Texas — Kent Emanuel and two relievers quieted Omaha’s offense as Round Rock earned a 3-0 win Wednesday night.

The Storm Chasers had averaged 7.3 runs in their previous seven games, but were held to four singles and never got a runner to third base.

Emanuel (5-1) retired 17 of the first 19 he faced.

Omaha’s best threat against Emanuel came in the seventh, when Erick Mejia and Ryan O’Hearn singled to put runners at first and second base with one out. But Kelvin Gutierrez grounded into a double play started by Astros all-star shortstop Carlos Correa, who is in Round Rock on a rehab assignment.

Correa singled and scored a run in the fifth and walked twice.

The Chasers also stranded two runners in the ninth.

Eric Skoglund took the loss. He allowed five hits in six innings. Joshua Rojas delivered the key blow, a two-run homer in the fifth.

After splitting the first two games, Omaha and Round Rock play the series finale at 7:05 p.m. Thursday.
