Omaha Golfer in Lead, Heading Into Final Round of Nebraska Junior Amateur Golf Tournament
Two shot lead for Omaha's Josh Peters, heading into final round of Nebraska Junior Amateur Golf tourney, at Beatrice Country Club
BEATRICE – It was a struggle for the leaders in round two of the Nebraska State Junior Golf Tournament at Beatrice Country Club. Omaha’s Josh Peters has taken over the lead by two shots, following a 72 with a second-round 70, to stand at two-under par, 142.
York’s Reed Malleck after six birdies and a five-under 67, shot 77 on Wednesday. Malleck is at even-par 144 heading into Thursday’s final day of the tournament. Josh Bartels of Lincoln followed a first-day 68, with a round of 80.
Luke Gutchewski, of Elkhorn is at 146, following rounds of 74 and 72. One of the best second rounds was a one-under par 71, by Grand Island’s Marcus Eriksen, who is at 150.
Norfolk’s Luke Kluver is at 148…six shots back….after consecutive rounds of 74.
The field is cut to the low 40 players for Thursday’s final round, at Beatrice Country Club.
