The Red Cross has opened a shelter in Lexington in response to flooding in the area. The shelter is located at Lexington High School. 

According to a news release from the Red Cross, the non-profit is working closely with local emergency management officials to coordinate relief services. The Red Cross is focusing on addressing the immediate needs of those affected. 

The Red Cross urged individuals and families displaced by the floods to come to the shelter. The Red Cross said it has volunteers on hand to provide a safe place to stay and sleep. They are also providing hot meals and referrals to other community services.
