If you thought there were more than enough do-it-yourself fireworks shows in Omaha this fourth of July, you were right and we now have the numbers to prove it.

Despite the city's decision to roll back the discharges from 10 days down to three, July 2nd through the 4th, the Omaha Police Department received over 15- hundred calls from people complaining about fireworks.

OPD's special fireworks unit issued 16 tickets between June 27th and July 7th, the unit's last day.

Police also held a Fireworks and Gun Amnesty Day over the week-end.at two different locations.

When it was over police had collected 20 long guns which included 1 short shotgun, 6 handguns, 5 BB/pellet guns, 650 pounds of ammunition and 300 pounds of fireworks.
