Wind turbine northeast of Neligh falls over
A wind turbine northeast of Neligh is in a heap after it fell over Friday.
The turbine appears to have folded over and snapped at two points along the tower.
The turbine is just one that makes up Invenergy's Upstream Wind Energy Center. Invenergy Spokeswoman Beth Conley says the company is investigating the cause of the incident and the wind farm is still generating electricity.
The Upstream Wind Energy Center was completed in January this year. According to a press release from Invenergy when the facility opened, the 200-megawatt farm generates enough electricity to power 68-thousand homes.
