Cooler Temps Ahead For July Events
Fourth of July Festivals
The AccuWeather forecast is saying July 1 will be the hottest day of July, with temperatures moderating to a high of 85 degrees by Saturday.
There is no rain in the forecast for the Fourth of July, when there are several events scheduled in River Country, but thunderstorms are possible over the weekend.
July 4
The Brownville Independence Day events include a parade, patriotic program, Freedom Run, Strut Your Mutt dog show, Brownville Market and fireworks.
The Quad County Museum annual Show and Shine features a 10 a.m. car show. Awards are at 3 p.m. and fireworks at dusk. Vince Riley will perform at the park stage and the Humboldt Chamber will host a barbecue at 5 p.m.
Nebraska City Freedom Festival carnival begins at Steinhart Park.
July 6 - 85 degrees
The Nebraska City Freedom Festival features 600 aerials and 14 ground displays at Steinhart Park. Other events include a watermelon feed at 2 p.m., Jaycees ice cream social from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Steinhart Lodge and the Southeast Nebraska Community Band from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m.
July 11 - 87 degrees
Cooler temperatures are forecast for the Nemaha County Fair beginning on July 11. A high of 88 degrees is forecast, but thunderstorms are in the mix Friday and Saturday.
July 13 - 88 degrees
The Syracuse Germanfest, featuring the BlackHawk concert.
