Woman Awaiting Beatrice Court Appearance Has Suspected Drug Fall From Clothing
Woman getting set for court appearance arrested, after suspected drug falls from her pocket
BEATRICE – Gage County Sheriff’s officers say a woman awaiting a court appearance while at the Gage County Jail had something fall out of her pocket.
It turned out to be suspected methamphetamine.
Authorities say 33-year-old Krystal Rainey was in the detention center after being arrested the prior day …and was to be brought to Gage County Court for a hearing on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Deputies say Rainey was sitting on a bench in the hallway of the jail. When she stood up, a small package fell out of her clothing.
A detention center supervisor secured the package and notified an investigator. After reviewing jail video to confirm the package came from Rainey’s clothing, a field test of the package was positive for methamphetamine.
Rainey was then arrested. The incident happened the morning of June 17th.
