Motorcyclist Injured in East Beatrice Collision With Car

BEATRICE - An 18-year-old Beatrice man was taken to the local hospital yesterday morning following a collision between the motorcycle he was riding, and a car.
Landon Carstens was treated and released from Beatrice Community Hospital.
Beatrice Police said the accident happened on East Scott Street at the entrance to the Flowing Springs area, at around 7:35 a.m.
A car driven by 69-year-old Diane Courtney was eastbound on Scott Street, making a right turn south, into the Flowing Springs area.
A witness told police the car pulled out in front of Carsten, who was eastbound on a Yamaha motorcycle. The motorcyclist swerved to the right and was alongside the car, when the auto began to turn.
The motorcycle then struck the side of the car. The motorcycle was totaled in the collision and the car, a 2019 Nissan sedan, had an estimated $5,000 damage.
Police did not cite anyone, in the collision. Beatrice Fire and Rescue transported Carstens to the hospital.
