College seeks more funding

MACY, NE (News Channel Nebraska) - For this northeast Nebraska college, receiving any type of funding is beneficial.
"It will continue to help NICC develop infrastructure, to continue to grow our student population, and help these students who are underserved to have opportunities to be fiscally stable," says Dawne Price, Dean of Student Services.
Nebraska Indian Community College known as NICC is a public community college with three locations across Nebraska.
" We don't receive as much state funding as state institutions, we receive state funding for our non-native students, we provide education to all learners, not just native students."
The FUTURE ACT would essentially provide vital funding to NICC for two fiscal years.
Chief Information Officer, Justin Kocian, says the bill would greatly help the college.
"We use it here at the college for finances, and for accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable," says Kocian.
With the number of students who enroll each year at the college increasing, the FUTURE ACT would benefit the college because it would allow them to build infrastructure to house the growing student population.
