BEATRICE - Beatrice Firefighters were sent to the Southeast Community College campus early this morning, on a report of a vehicle fire.

Firefighters and two police patrol units went to the scene, at the college's physical plant facilities on the west edge of the campus.

A pickup was on fire, parked outside a maintenance building at the west Beatrice campus.

A fire captain said the owner of the truck told authorities it had been "running rough"…and had just been driven, when the fire broke out. There were no injuries.

The Dodge truck was destroyed by the flames. There was no damage to the maintenance building. The physical plant is immediately west of the new residential hall being completed, on the college campus.

Beatrice Firefighters were dispatched at 5:15 a.m. The fire was extinguished by 5:49 a.m.
