News Director & Investigative Journalist News

I’ve been a journalist for 46 years and have been fortunate to receive numerous local, state and national reporting awards including the Walter Cronkite Award for Political Journalism on Television and the Columbia University Dupont Award for Investigative Reporting.

Most recently my exclusive reporting exposed a cover-up within the Nebraska State Patrol, a cover-up involving a high-speed chase and crash that left one man dead and resulted in the firing of the patrol’s superintendent and the suspensions of six other troopers.

My wife, Deborah Ward the VP of Convention and Tourism for the City of Omaha and former KMTV news anchor, and I have been married 32 years.

I have five children and seven grandchildren.
