TILDEN - As floodwaters subside, for some the damage is only beginning.
A home off of 536th Avenue northeast of Tilden is dangling precariously close to the banks of the Elkhorn River, which have rapidly eroded due to this month's flooding.
Madison County Commissioner Troy Uhlir tells News Channel Nebraska that work on shoring up and repairing the road will begin Monday. He added that the hope is to use rock to push back the water far enough to prevent any further damage to the house.
