NORFOLK, NE (News Channel Nebraska) - A northeast Nebraska landmark is coming down.

Demolition began Wednesday on the former Prengers restaurant. The eatery closed down suddenly in the summer of 2017 after 85 years in Norfolk.

The old building at the corner of First and Norfolk Avenue is getting razed to make way for a new medical clinic. Faith Regional Health Services announced in September that they had purchased the building.

Hospital officials say the plan is to eventually build a new outpatient clinic at that location.
