BATTLE CREEK - The future is bright for the young Braves, capping off their season with a 53-0 drubbing of Ponca Friday night.

Battle Creek came out running, scoring on their first two possessions with TDs from Hunter Kruse and Andy Ricchio to stake themselves to a 20-0 first quarter lead. Ricchio also picked off a pass to set up another Braves score, and a 32-0 halftime advantage.

Hunter Kruse, Connor Heiderman and QBs Tyan Thompson and Tre Higby got in on the scoring party in the 2nd half with scoring runs. Ricchio and Barrett Koehler also hauled in TD receptions. And the Braves defense did their part, forcing 5 turnovers.

Battle Creek ends the year at 3-6, while Ponca falls to 2-7.
