Beatrice City Councilman Ted Fairbanks has announced that he will run for Mayor of the City of Beatrice in the 2026 election.

Fairbanks is currently serving in his 8th term on the Beatrice City Council. Fairbanks has served under six different mayors and has worked alongside over a dozen different city council members.  Fairbanks has also served on the Beatrice Planning and Zoning Commission.

In a news release Fairbanks says "I retired from my career at UPS almost 3 years ago, and giving me more time to focus on the city of Beatrice and the people who live here. My wife, Julie and I have been active in the community for many years, and I want to continue to give back to the city that has given us so much."

Fairbanks says his knowledge of the city and his background puts him in a good position to dot he job and do it well.
