Street Closures Begin Today In Beatrice
Street closures begin today in Beatrice
The City of Beatrice is advising residents and drivers of upcoming road closures as local utilities and City departments coordinate work on 19th Street and Lincoln Street.
Beginning today, Monday, August 4th, 19th Street will be closed from High Street to Summit Street to allow Black Hills Energy, the Beatrice Street Department, and the Beatrice Water Department to complete utility and street projects.
Simultaneously, the Water Department will close Lincoln Street from 19th to 21st Streets to install new water lines to serve the Heritage Heights Addition. To ensure safety and reduce congestion, local traffic only will be allowed to the north (at Monroe Street) and south (at Ella Street) of the work area to prevent truck traffic from entering residential neighborhoods.
Streets will reopen in sections as work is completed, with the goal to have all streets open before the start of the school year. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time during construction.
Residents with questions or concerns may contact Jason Moore, Street Superintendent, at (402) 228 5219.
