GRANT - Grant City Superintendent Edward Dunn has announced his resignation after more than five years of service.

In a letter addressed to the city's residents, Dunn expressed a mixture of gratitude and sadness as he prepares to transition out of his role to pursue new opportunities. His resignation will be effective after the Grant City Council meeting on October 8 where he will officially step down.

Dunn will be taking on the position of Executive Director of the West Central Nebraska Development District (WCNDD), a move he says aligns with his personal and professional goals.

During his tenure, Dunn played a key role in enhancing Grant’s infrastructure, public services, and fostering a renewed sense of community. He credited the city council, staff, and residents for their support and collaboration, which he stated were instrumental in achieving many shared goals.

In his resignation letter, Dunn also expressed deep gratitude for the trust placed in him and the relationships he built with colleagues and community members. He remains committed to assisting with the transition process, ensuring a smooth handover to the next superintendent.

As he moves on to his new position, Dunn said he looks forward to watching the continued success and growth of the Grant community.

The city is expected to begin its search for a new superintendent in the coming weeks.
