WYNOT - Both Wynot and Ponca fans witnessed a "game of the year" candidate while jammed inside of "The Barn" in Wynot, Nebraska.

In a game that featured physicality, intensity, drama and even an 1,000 point scorer, it was the Ponca Indians that came out on top against the Wynot Blue Devils 64-55 in double overtime.

Ponca, ranked as the #1 team in Class C2, entered the game at 13-0. Meanwhile, Wynot walked onto its home court with a 9-3 record, ready to do battle with one of the state's best.

Wynot started the third quarter on a 6-0 run to bring the game within a point, but Ponca strung together a few big plays to increase the lead to 9 points, thanks to the play of Dalton Lamprecht.

The Blue Devils chipped away at the lead as the game turned the corner into the fourth quarter. Zach Foxhoven took over the quarter and helped the Blue Devils fight back in the contest.

Down by two points with the fourth quarter clock under 30 seconds, Foxhoven tried to tie the game off a dribble drive, but missed. After an offensive rebound, Chase Schroeder passed the ball to Dylan Heine waiting on the perimeter, where he cashed in a three pointer to take 45-44 lead with less than 18 seconds left.

After a quick turnover and intentional foul, Ponca was down by two points after a made free throw. Dalton Lamprecht received the pass and headed for the corner, where he pulled up and missed a potential game-winning three.
