Plainview holds off Wausa rally for second straight win
The Pirates beat the Vikings 45-39 in their home opener
PLAINVIEW - The Plainview girls basketball team overcame a tough shooting night to hold off a scrappy Wausa team on Friday.
The Pirates shot 20-of-26 from the free throw line, which made the difference in a 45-39 win.
Plainview also owned a 40-23 edge in rebounding, which was key down the stretch.
Wausa struggled mightily early on, committing eleven turnovers in the first quarter alone. That created a hole too deep for them to dig out of.
The win was Plainview's third in a row against their Lewis & Clark Conference rivals, and followed a 57-39 season-opening win over Winside on Thursday.
