PERU - Peru State football player Garrison Dodge and University of Nebraska lineman Ethan Piper are nominees for Allstate’s 31^st Good Works team.

Dodge is the only player from the Heart of America Athletic Conference to be named to the list of 114 student athletes nominated.

Former AFCA Good Works team members and journalists will select the final 22-member team based on exceptional leadership on and off the football field. Fans will select the team captain.

The selection panel this year includes Troy Hawkes of Allstate, Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, Kirk Herbstreit of ESPN and University of Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl.

To be nominated each player must be actively involved with a charitable organization or service group while maintaining sound academic standing.

Dodge is a second-year freshman wide receiver from Oakland, Neb.

Piper is a sophomore from Norfolk. He has donated his time with a Day of Service, Husker Heroes, The Nebraska Football Road Race, local hospitals and school outreach events.
