NORFOLK, Neb. -- Norfolk Police Division conducted a traffic stop that ended up with an arrest.

NPD said that on Saturday around 11:00 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to maintain its lane while driving and drove over a curbed median.

Officials said the officer had contact with the driver they identified as 35-year-old Michael Keck of Johnstown.

Authorities said that during the officer's contact with Keck, the officer allegedly could smell alcohol coming from him. The officer also said that they saw an open Budweiser beer can in the front passenger floor area of the vehicle.

NPD said that Keck was asked to perform field sobriety maneuvers, which showed impairment.

Officials said that Keck refused to submit to a chemical test of his breath.

Keck was arrested for enhanced third-offense driving under the influence and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Keck was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and was later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
