More snow, cold temps expected in western Nebraska this week

The (NWS) office in Cheyenne released its preliminary snow predictions for a system set to hit the area early Wednesday morning through Thursday morning.
The central panhandle is expected to get the most with a forecast 5-9 inches in Scottsbluff and 4-7 inches in Alliance and Bridgeport.
Sidney and Kimball are forecast to receive 3-7 inches of snow. The eastern panhandle could see 4-6 inches of snow.
Weather officials say snow will begin in the mountains in southeast Wyoming Tuesday morning while the storm slowly moves east. They say snow will arrive on the high plains by early Wednesday morning.
The heaviest snow is expected to fall Wednesday afternoon.
The NWS says they have high confidence in the forecast timing and medium confidence in projected snow totals as the system could change between now and Wednesday.
Wednesday night, extremely low wind chills are expected. Much of the panhandle is expected to see wind chills of 20 below zero or colder Wednesday night. Some areas may see temps fall to -30.
