Coach Goltz achieved his 695th career win, most all-time in Nebraska history.
Players from different eras of Coach Goltz's career attended the game to be part of the 695 wins.
A post on the Falls City Sacred Heart Facebook page states the following regarding the success for Goltz.
"Coach Goltz, thank you for your time, dedication, and commitment to Sacred Heart students and athletes. Thank you also to his family. His wife, Janice, daughters Maggie and Alicia and grandchildren Zander and Brielle were in attendance tonight. His son Matt was unable to attend"
The 695th win came over Sterling by a final score of 74-29. The Irish boys basketball team will be looking to add another state title to their resume, as they are they defending Class D2 state champions.
Goltz is also the Head Football Coach, Principal, and Activities Director at Falls City Sacred Heart. So far in this academic year the Irish have added yet another state title to the trophy case as the volleyball team won the Class D2 state championship earlier this year.
