Norfolk man sentenced to probation for fleeing from crash in stolen car
A Norfolk man facing multiple charges after fleeing from a car accident in May has been sentenced to probation.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- A Norfolk man facing multiple charges after fleeing from a car accident in May has been sentenced to probation, as originally reported by the Norfolk Daily News and later confirmed by News Channel Nebraska.
At the time of the crash, the Nebraska State Patrol said 27-year-old Landon Batenhorst swerved to avoid a semi-trailer at the intersection of N. 1st Street and NE Industrial Highway. NSP said that he then crashed through a fence before fleeing on foot.
The vehicle Batenhorst was driving at the time had been reported stolen two days prior. He was located away from the accident scene and arrested.
Batenhorst was sentenced to 24-month probation term, in addition to a $1,000 fine and a 15-year revocation of his license, according to the Nebraska judicial system. He was facing two felony charges and a misdemeanor.
