BEATRICE – An accident about six miles northwest of Beatrice sent law officers and EMS personnel to the scene, at around 11:15 a.m., Monday.

A car went off the north side of West Hickory Road, overturning onto the passenger side.  Two Beatrice Fire and Rescue ambulances were sent to the scene along with Beatrice Rural and Plymouth Fire personnel.

A Beatrice Fire Captain says one person was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.   A second occupant of the vehicle refused treatment.

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office was investigating the accident…which happened about a quarter-of-a-mile east of the gravel intersection of West Hickory and Southwest 117th Road.

A deputy investigating the accident said the woman driving the eastbound car met a vehicle traveling the opposite direction and moved to the side of the road.  She lost control on loose gravel, sending the car off the north side of West Hickory.

The deputy said the other driver did not stop, but that driver may not have known the other vehicle went off the road.
