Fortenberry: I was 'setup'
Accused of repeatedly lying to the FBI and facing up to 15 years in federal prison, GOP Congressman Jeff Fortenberry says he was "setup" and wants the judge to throw the case out.

Accused of repeatedly lying to the FBI and facing up to 15 years in federal prison, GOP Congressman Jeff Fortenberry says he was "setup" and wants the judge to throw the case out.
That's all part of a 9-page motion that also says the government's investigation initially found that Fortenberry knew nothing about illegal foreign campaign contributions to his 2016 reelection campaign.
The nine-term Congressman says the case against him is based on a 10-minute phone call made to Fortenberry by a government informant, who told him about the illegal contributions.
The government says when investigators questioned Fortenberry about the phone call he didn't answer truthfully.
Fortenberry says any comments he made did not effect the government's overall corruption investigation and are therefore not illegal.
The court is expected to hear both sides during a December 7th hearing in Los Angeles.
