LINCOLN - Columbus Lakeview registered six aces and held Syracuse without a single ace in a Class C-1 opening round sweep of the Rockets.

#5 Syracuse traded points with #4 Lakeview most of the first set before faltering late 25-17. The Viqueens felt in control the rest of the way and went on to take the next two sets 25-13 and 25-20. 

Madison Vogt led Lakeview with 17 kills. Jordana Nekl gathered 25 digs to lead the team and Autumn Gibbs dished out an impressive 37 assists. Delainey Cast was tops in kills (10) and digs (30) for Syracuse.

Lakeview is on to the semifinals to face #1 Kearney Catholic. This is the second season in a row in which the Viqueens eliminated the Rockets in the first round.
