GIPS continues universal masking policy
Masks aren't going away any time soon at Grand Island Public Schools.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Masks aren't going away any time soon at Grand Island Public Schools.
The district announced in their latest COVID-19 protocol update that universal masking in all GIPS buildings will last until at least the end of the calendar year.
District officials said the city of Grand Island is still showing substantial transmission of the virus of the past week, which affected the district's decision.
The GIPS dashboard shows just ten cases of COVID-19 in the school district itself over the past seven days.
