WAYNE, Neb. - A rural town in northeast Nebraska is opening up its first Air BnB.

Community members toured downtown Wayne's newest addition: "The Byrd Nest" on Friday.

The owner of the getaway spot Greg Ptacek said it is more than just a place to crash, but an experience.

"Spend the night within walking distance of 11 eateries and then seven drinking establishments," said Ptacek. "This allows us to showcase what Wayne has to offer."

Ptacek is also the owner of Johnnie Byrd Brewing Company just next door.

He and his wife say the space in the historical former city hall has been a year in the making.

Time well spent...to keep the history in tact.

"So actually the table that you see here is the original 1912 city hall table that they used in their city hall meetings," said Kelly Ptacek.

Kelly said the used original doors, floors, and even the kitchen sink.

People can start renting the place on Air BnB's website in December.
