COLUMBUS, Neb. -- The Columbus Police Department dispatched officers to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on October 16th at 9:37 p.m. at the intersection of 23rd Street and 3rd Avenue.
Authorities say that after more investigating, there was video obtained from a local business that clearly shows the accident in question, and it contradicts eyewitness accounts.
Officials say the video showed the fire engine approaching 3rd Ave going eastbound on 23rd Street with its overhead emergency lights activated.
Authorities say the video also shows the southbound pickup on 3rd Ave, where they are entering the intersection on a green light just before being struck by the fire engine.
This is an ongoing investigation.
