IMPERIAL - Chase County senior quarterback Ryan Bernhardt rushed for 193 yards on 18 carries and scored four times, and the Longhorns held off Bridgeport, 36-33, Friday night in Imperial.

Bernhardt also threw for 138 yards on 9-16 passing. Junior running back Dawson Mollendor carried the ball 14 times for 56 yards and a score. Sophomore receiver had 85 yards on three catches. 

Chase County (3-5) finished with 389 yards of total offense. They averaged 257 yards going into Friday's game. They'll host Gordon-Rushville in their season finale next Friday.

The Bulldogs trailed 14-6 at halftime and fell behind by 10 points - 36-26 - with 8:12 left in the fourth quarter. Senior quarterback Braxten Swires punched in a score from two yards out to complete an eight play drive to cut the deficit to seven. 

On the ensuing kickoff, Bridgeport recovered an onside kick and got the ball into Longhorns' territory before the seven-play drive came to an end on an interception on fourth down with 47 seconds remaining. The Bulldogs were completed pass away at the five-yard line on second down from taking the lead late in the game, but the pass to senior Dillon Metz fell incomplete. 

Bridgeport held the ball from Chase County's offense for over seven-straight minutes in the final period. 

Junior running back Kason Loomis led the 'Dawgs with 121 yards on 27 carries and a touchdown. Swires added 106 yards on nine carries and two scores. Junior fullback Parker Farrenkopf carried the ball 14 times for 79 yards and a touchdown. 

Bridgeport (1-7) finished with 344 total yards. They averaged 234 yards coming into the game. They'll wrap-up the season next Friday at Hershey
