NORFOLK, Neb. -- Saturday was opening day for a business in northeast Nebraska.

Wisper Skate Shop in Norfolk has closed down its original building to open up a bigger storefront in the Sunset Plaza Mall.

Owner Bryce Schmitz said the new space was made possible through support.

"Going from where we started to where we are today, it's a dream come true," said Schmitz. "I can't thank our community enough for supporting through this journey and I hope we can continue to grow and make everyone proud."

Schmitz says the traffic that comes with the territory will help business pick up.

Store manager Tim Fernau says sunset plaza mall's marketing team is stepping into help.

"We want this to be successful as possible, but our main goal is to impact our local community," said Fernau. "Anything that we can give back and effect the people around us, in a positive fashion, that's the route we're taking."

Skating classes will start back up next week. Fernau said they already have 30 kids signed up.
