Two medical helicopters respond to vehicle rollover near Dalton
DALTON, Neb. - A one-vehicle rollover accident closed both lanes of Highway 385 north of Dalton in southern Morrill County Monday afternoon.
Two medical helicopters, the Nebraska State Patrol, Morrill County Sheriff's Office, and fire and rescue departments from Dalton, Gurley and Broadwater were part of the initial response at around 1 p.m. just south of the intersection of Hwy. 385 and Rd. 78.
A blue car at the crash site suffered major damage after coming to rest on the east side of the road. The roof was smashed in and there was considerable damage to the front and back of the vehicle as it lay facing south.
The make and model of the car, along with how many occupants and possible injuries, has not been released.
The southbound lane reopened at approximately 3 p.m., however traffic was still reduced to one-lane with law enforcement using orange flags to direct traffic through the accident scene.
The investigation into the crash and accident clean-up is ongoing.
