NORFOLK, Neb. -- A northeast Nebraska health fair is back.

The 30th Annual PATCH Health Fair made its way to Norfolk's Northeast Community College on Friday after taking a year off due to COVID-19.

Covid has affected everything as well all know," said health fair committee co-chair Krystal Preister. "We have some extra safety measures. Hand sanitizer is out. Masks are required in the building. Out booths are spread out a little bit more. But as far as the services that we're offering for the PATCH Health Fair, nothing has changed."

PATCH, or Planned Approach to Community Health, aims to promote a health community.

All day Friday, people could participate in discounted health screenings and get more information about health-related products and services.

"The PATCH Health Fair is a way for us to provide community information for wellness," Preister said. "It's a great place to come and get your labs drawn for a discounted price, as well as there's lot of vendors that give out great information on health and wellness."

Proceeds from the health fair go to support school grans, senior center grants and community events.

The fair continues until 6:30 p.m. Friday evening.
