Arrest made in high school sex investigation

An Omaha area teacher is under arrest accused of having sexual contact with a student.

Dr. Michelle Bluford, the band director at Elkhorn South High School, was taken into custody late Monday, following a month-long investigation.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s office, for three years Bluford “initiated and nurtured” an inappropriate relationship with a now former student.

The Sheriff adds that Bluford employed “predatory grooming behaviors.”

Bluford now faces one count of felony child abuse. The investigation is on-going.
