One dead and multiple injured after shooting Sunday morning
OMAHA, Neb. -- Early Sunday morning, Omaha Police officers heard multiple gunshots near 24th and Lake Street.
Police say that officers responded to the parking lot of north 2311 North 24th Street, where they located and found a female, Jazsmine Washington age 19, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Police say that OFD medics transported the victim to the Nebraska Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Officials say there were additional victims who arrived by private vehicles.
Police say the following were other people injured by the gunfire. They all have non-life threatening injuries, and the victims are as followes: Janyah Tompkins age 20, Tameira Rollins age 20, Todd Wakefield age 50, and Eddie Shelly age 35.
Sunday afternoon, an additional victim, Vonmia Johnson age 26, arrived for medical treatment at the Nebraska Medical Center, and it was determined there were non-life threatening injuries.
This is an ongoing investigation.
