CLEARWATER Neb. -- The Clearwater Rodeo is back in town, and rain or shine the rodeo was going to happen.

The night started out with a downpour of rain, ending mutton busting before it was able to really get going. Viewers of the show ran under the bleachers in an attempt to stay dry with varied success. However, this did not deter those who came out, and a half-hour later when the sun came up and rain wasn't as bad the rodeo proper began.

To start things off the Miss Clearwater Rodeo was crowned. Candidates this year were Josey Booth of Neligh, Morgan Erhardt of Clearwater, Amanda Sellin of Norfolk, and Jordyn Stempek of Duncan were this year's candidates for the 2021 crown. Amanda Sellin of Norfolk won the competition and is this year's Queen of the Clearwater Rodeo.

The rodeo began with bareback riding followed by steer wrestling, tie-down roping, and much more. To end the night Dylan Bloom from North Bend Nebraska, held a concert with his country band on Clearwater's Mainstreet. The Rodeo will last two more days on Saturday, June 26, and Sunday, June 27, with another concert starting at 8 with performances from Dylan Bloom, Tyler Rich, and Riley Green Saturday night.
